Airtech CN-235-100 Utility Transport and Commuter Airliner

The CN-235 was developed jointly by CASA of Spain and IPTN of Indonesia with each country sharing the manufacture and assembly. The first prototype was rolled out in 1983, certification was granted in 1986 and deliveries began in 1988. The initial production was of the CN-235-10 but it was quickly replaced by the CN-235-100 with the more powerful engines. The CN-235 is offered also in a Quick Change version which is capable of carrying passengers, freight, or both. The roomy cabin allows for ample space for either, and the rear cargo door/ramp allows easy loading of freight. It's that rear door that apparently requires this plane to have the strange "beaver tail" rear section that makes it distinctive. Although only finding use in its native countries of Spain and Indonesia, the CN-235 is a unique, versatile and effective utility/commuter aircraft.

The simulation is painted in CASA civil demonstrater livery and includes working flaps, gear, lights, strobes and rear cargo door (when you press the Spoiler "/" key). It takes off without flaps if you give it healthy up elevators. It lands best at about 100 knots. I had to skimp a bit on the lights, providing a bare minimum, in order to have enough parts to include the "essentials." Put the .AIR file in your PILOTS subdirectory and the rest in your TEXTURE subdirectory. Flight Shop from BAO is required to fly it.

NOTE: Some have asked about uploading my planes to BBSes or Web Sites. My planes (unless otherwise noted) can be freely distributed as long as: 1. No charges are made for the files (other than normal "media" charges) and 2. I am given credit for my work, meaning this text file should be included.
